There have been lots of comments about not putting in outdoor gyms but improving play areas instead.
Whilst we understand the sentiment, Walsall has very high obesity levels, and free outdoor gyms do provide adults with a space to undertake strengthening exercise. This is particularly important in the current economic climate. The locations chosen are our key sites, which we want to ensure have a similar basic level of equipment.
To ensure that people are able to use this equipment safely, there are diagrams on the equipment and QR codes link to video’s showing the correct way to use them.
